At least 30 were killed and more than 100 injured in multiple suicide bombings in Nigeria.

At least 30 people were killed and more than 100 others injured after several suicide bombings were carried out in various locations in Nigeria over the weekend, sources said on Sunday.

Alhaji Muhammad Shehu Timta, Emir of Gwoza, told reporters that a woman carried out the first attack that occurred on Saturday.

The prince said, "The first suicide attack was planned by an unidentified woman who sneaked into the wedding of a popular young man in Gwoza with her two children and detonated her explosive device, killing herself and many people."

"A few minutes later, another suicide bomber infiltrated a burial ceremony...nearby and detonated explosive devices, and as [I] am speaking to you now, the third explosion occurred a few minutes earlier and resulted in more casualties.

Nigerian President Bola Tinubu condemned the attacks, describing them as desperate acts of terrorism that demonstrate the increasing pressure on terrorists and the success achieved in discouraging their ability to launch attacks.

Tinubu said his administration was taking necessary measures to ensure the safety of citizens and pledged to bring those responsible to justice.

No group has claimed responsibility for the bombings.
