Mass terrorism in football stadiums

By: Sameh Selim

This strange phenomenon has grown in football stadiums recently. It existed a decade ago, but in a limited way, and with the growth of the population in the world and the increase in the popularity of the first team game in the world. The mass attendance in new stadiums has become large accommodating numbers of fans, so the old stadiums were not adapted such large numbers of fans, and this is indeed an important point because of the problems that we saw, whether in the match between Egypt and Senegal or even in the English Premier League matches, which is the loss of security control over the large numbers of football fans in the stadiums. The solution is to build new stadiums with a limited capacity of fans For the security forces to control it quickly.

On the other hand, the Fédération Internationale de Football Association plays an essential role in setting new and stricter legislation in stadiums, whether from players, coaches, referees, or even at the level of continental or local federations, to prevent corruption and racism in stadiums, whether because of color, gender, religion or politics.

Sports in general, and football stadiums in particular, must avoid these phenomena that have become strange in the modern era.

In the absence of the state’s security authorities and their inability to control the masses, the penalty should be the transfer of matches outside the country that cannot protect the opponent’s fans or players, whether intentionally or unintentionally, by activating the authority of international sports courts and sports lawyers specialized in sports affairs, especially football.
