CDC director reveals what could end the epidemic?
What did the director of the CDC say about ending the epidemic?
Dr. Rochelle Wallinsky, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, believes that the coronavirus pandemic will end if humans work together.
"We have a lot of science right now. We have vaccines, and what we can't predict is human behavior. Human behavior in this pandemic has not served us well," she said, according to CNN.
Dr. Scott Gottlieb reveals two ways the pandemic will end
Experts say 90% of the US will have immunity to COVID-19 by Thanksgiving
Walinsky said several people are not immune to the coronavirus. She said getting the vaccine would help stop the transmission of the virus.
"The virus is not stupid," Walinsky added.
The end of the epidemic may be imminent. As I wrote for Deseret News, experts suggest that the changing delta wave may be the last surge of the coronavirus for a while because the country could be close to 90% immune from natural infections and vaccines.
Dr. Scott Gottlieb, the FDA, recently spoke about the end of the pandemic in his new book, "Uncontrolled Spread: Why We're Crushed by COVID-19 and How We Can Defeat the Next Pandemic."
Gottlieb said there would likely be a discussion about how to deal with the next pandemic if there is one and what might happen to control another virus from spreading.
"I believe that to prepare for the next pandemic properly; we will need to empower public health agencies. We will need to build new capacities at the (CDC) and enable them to behave when they face any public health crisis in the future.
