"United Flight 128 encountered unexpected disruptions while en route to Houston," the airline said in a statement.
Upon arrival, two passengers and three crew members were met by medical staff and taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.

It is rare for a disorder severe enough to harm people, but it does happen.
Several people aboard Hawaiian Airlines Flight 35 Sunday from Phoenix, Arizona, to Honolulu, Hawaii, were also infected. Honolulu Emergency Medical Services said at least 36 people were injured, 11 of them seriously.
Hawaiian Airlines confirmed the plane experienced turbulence shortly before landing in Hawaii and said 13 passengers and three crew members were taken to hospital, and more people were treated for minor injuries at the airport.
