The HackManac platform reported that a group calling itself "Hassam Hassan" claimed to have compromised systems belonging to the Argentine Football Association (AFA) and published confidential data associated with the organization.

The Egyptian hackers allegedly gained access to the France referee's fiancée and sent her messages urging her to leave him. They also reportedly accessed his grandmother's account and sent her messages, while abusive messages were sent to his mother as well.

In addition, journalists at FIFA received messages signed by "The Egyptian Cyber Warriors," announcing the cyberattack and explaining its motive. The message stated:

"This theft will not go unanswered. The victory was taken through corrupt refereeing decisions."

The group further claimed that it had obtained confidential Argentine Football Association data, internal system information, and personal data, which it then published on its page.

The Argentine Football Association acknowledged the breach, stating that the messages had been sent from an official account without authorization, and that an investigation into the cyberattack had been launched.

The controversy did not end on the field. Following public accusations that a French referee and FIFA officials had favored Argentina, critics contend that these statements fueled hostility across social media.
