Police: One shot at an NC Walmart, officers are searching for the shooter
Police said a person was injured in a shooting inside a Walmart in North Carolina on Friday. Officers are still searching for the shooter.
Lumberton Police said in a news release that police were called to a Walmart in Lumberton to a report of gunshots around 11:30 a.m. on Friday, one of the biggest shopping days of the year.
When officers arrived, police said they could not find the shooter or any victims, but surveillance video showed the shooter fleeing the store as it was cleared.
Police said the victim later arrived at UNC Health Southeastern with a gunshot wound that was not considered life-threatening. They were not aware of any other people injured in the accident.
Police said the shooting appeared to be an isolated incident between two people who knew each other.
Police said the shooting came days after six co-workers at a Walmart in Chesapeake, Virginia, were shot and killed by a supervisor, who then killed himself.
