Trump on what could block the 2024 bid: 'I think a bad call from a doctor'

Former President Trump suggested in a Friday night interview that only a "wrong call from a doctor" would prevent him from pursuing another White House bid.

Television host David Brody, who has been publicly courting the launch of another presidential campaign while so far refusing to reveal his plans for 2024, asked what might stop him from running again.

"Well, I don't - I guess a bad call from a doctor or something, right?" Trump said on "The Water Cooler" on Real America's Voice.

"Things happen, and God happens," he added. "But I feel fine."

Trump, now 75, was previously the oldest president to hold office in 2017 until President Biden earlier this year.

During Friday's interview, Trump also pledged to "do whatever is necessary" to protect documents from the House Select Committee investigating the January 6 riots at the US Capitol.

Trump has vowed to fight subpoenas to testify from his former aides by partly trying to invoke executive privilege, even though he is no longer president.

Friday, the White House said that Biden does not plan to assert executive privilege to protect Trump-era documents requested by House investigators.

Trump also spoke in the interview with Prodi about how he ignored the advice of Anthony Fauci. The latter advised the Trump White House on the coronavirus and is now Biden's chief medical adviser.

"He's been there for 40 years or something. It was part of the furniture. But if you think about it, I did the opposite of what he said," Trump said, adding, "He's a better promoter than he's a doctor."
