Remnants of Hurricane Ida Bring Floods and Hurricanes to the Northeast
The remnants of Hurricane Ida dumped a deadly and historically intense deluge in New York City and the surrounding area Wednesday night, as the storm closed all but one of New York's subway lines, knocking out power for more than 100,000 people in Pennsylvania and killing at least one. One person in New Jersey.
Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolfe signed a disaster declaration on Wednesday ahead of expected flooding.
"This dangerous storm continues to have devastating effects across the South, and as it approaches Pennsylvania, we expect heavy rain across the state," the governor said. "I urge Pennsylvanians to monitor local weather and traffic conditions before making any plans and preparing for potential flooding."
