Sudan, the Land of African Dreams

By Sameh Selim- Memeber of the United States Press Agency

In light of the dire global economic conditions and the economic blows directed at global trade, the global economy is on the brink of collapse. However, some African countries will benefit from these global trade wars, enabling them to grow and prosper. This can be achieved through their unique geographic location, large populations, modernized infrastructure, and distinguished minds or through other African countries that possess the natural resources that qualify them and economically place them at the forefront of the African continent. This is post-war Sudan.

Sudan is likely to have developed a long-term strategic plan following the war, focusing on achieving security and political stability with the assistance of friendly countries, such as Egypt and Saudi Arabia. This plan aims to capitalize on the opportunities presented by the global trade war. This plan can be summarized in three strategic axes:

First, Military and strategic security, such as Sudan's permission for Russia to establish a Russian military base in the Red Sea in exchange for Russian weapons and joint future defense, contributes to the security of the Red Sea.

The Second is building transportation and communications bridges between Egypt and Sudan through roads, railways, river transport, electrical connections, or communications. This will ensure military and strategic security from the north, facilitate movement, and promote prosperity for bilateral trade.

The Third is Egyptian and Saudi investments in companies from both countries, focusing on agriculture, mining, infrastructure, water, dams, electricity, energy, and industry, as well as securing the western part of the Sudanese border with Chad and Libya. The strategic circumstances and global trade war present opportunities for Egypt, Sudan, and other African and Arab countries to be exploited during this unprecedented period. This war is a disaster for the world and a boon for other countries seeking to expand into the continent, becoming the world's breadbasket, its new factory, or the African dreamland.
