One of the most amazing stories of Korean drama in terms of suspense and embodiment of reality, this short drama that does not exceed a few minutes and perhaps does not exceed two hours caught my attention, but it presented a painful reality that touches our personal experiences in this life when others misjudge us and suddenly decide to abandon us, believing that our presence will hinder their success and their attainment of glory and the summit.
The short film tells the story of a girl who sacrifices for her fiancé, travels outside her country, and accepts to work hard jobs to finance the expenses of her fiancé's studies, whom she loved and whom she had been waiting for all these years to celebrate success together after he completed his university studies. This girl also managed to establish a major company and become the largest financial group in the country. At the same time, she continues to support her lover behind the scenes until he graduates from university with a doctorate.
When she decides to declare her identity, she discovers the ugly truth about her fiancé and is surprised by his feelings shifting towards another woman because of his ambition and love of money. He publicly announces the end of his relationship with her because she is not of his social and academic level. He even insists on expelling and embarrassing her in front of people more than once at a party that brings together the town's major economic figures and businessmen.
Finally, he discovers that she is the chairwoman of the board of directors of the largest financial group in his country. At that time, he feels remorse and thinks about fixing what he calls a misunderstanding, but she does not accept his apology and decides to expel him from her life and companies and not support him financially or academically again.
The most influential scene in this drama is when she tells him, "I wanted to raise you to glory so that you could sit next to me, but you faced all the support I gave you with betrayal."
This story reminded me of the people we meet in our lives who want and are happy to stay with us as long as we are in the best condition and have money and a good job, but they run away as soon as one of these advantages disappears. Unfortunately, people are always with the strong person and not the weak. This is the state of humans, and we cannot change their thinking and nature even if cultures differ.
Some of us may meet such people, and our reactions to them remain different. Some of us surrender to our talk and fall into a circle of frustration, while others challenge these arrogant people and insist on success. Perhaps God allows us to meet these people because we would not have the will and determination to succeed and face difficulties without them.
All I want to say is that we believe that the motivation for success is a positive thing, but it is not necessary that behind every great man, there is a woman who pushes him to succeed, nor is it necessary that behind every successful woman, there is a man who pushes her to succeed. Perhaps behind a successful woman is someone who abandoned her, belittled her, underestimated her, and believed that she could not do anything without him, so he abandoned her. So, she insisted on teaching him a practical lesson that she could continue, work, and succeed without him. Perhaps the person who decided to abandon you yesterday and removed you from his life will come one day and feel regret and will knock on your door again. Can you open your door for him?
