Canada's favorite Asian grocery chain T&T Supermarket is coming to the United States

T&T Supermarket, Canada's leading Asian grocery chain, is finally opening a branch in the United States.

The Location: Announced Thursday, the first T&T store in the United States will open in Bellevue, Washington, in the summer of 2024.

"T&T Supermarkets celebrates 30 years as Canada's favorite Asian grocery store with the announcement that it will soon open a store in the United States," reads the grocery chain's website.

“After 30 years of success in Canada, we couldn't be more excited to bring our one-of-a-kind offering home to customers in the United States,” CEO Tina Lee said in a recent press release.

Key details: The Bellevue store, located on Factoria's Marketplace, will offer "more than 300 T&T private label products" as well as "a sushi counter, hot food bar, and noodle station," according to the press release.

The 76,000-square-foot branch will also serve as the anchor store and will apparently become the "largest Asian supermarket in the state."

In the press release, Bellevue Mayor Lynn Robinson said they are thrilled that the new T&T branch will add to the city's "rich food scene and vibrant culture."

About the chain: T & T was founded in 1993 by Cindy Lee, an immigrant from Taiwan. The mother of three opened her first grocery store in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada, with the help of her husband, Jack Lee.

The grocery chain's name references her daughters, Tina and Tiffany, as well as two early investors.
