Canada will make changes to COVID border restrictions next week
On Friday, Canada's health minister said that Canada is reviewing its border restrictions related to the pandemic and is likely to announce changes next week, as the worst wave driven by the Omicron variable appears to be over.
"With the worst out of Omicron now out, our government is reviewing the new measures at our borders to report on changes this next week," Health Minister Jean-Yves Duclos told reporters.
The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation earlier reported that the federal government was on the verge of removing the mandatory COVID-19 PCR test for fully vaccinated Canadians traveling outside of Canada.
Canada requires all travelers entering the country to provide evidence of a negative PCR test within 72 hours of arrival. It also requires the complete vaccination of all non-essential foreign travelers.
