Two Virginia men have been charged with two burglaries at 7-Eleven stores in Northern Virginia.
In a statement Wednesday, Fairfax County Sheriff's Department said Kelly Smith, 25, of Chantilly, Va., and Terrell Tapscott, 29, of Gainesville, Va., were arrested separately and charged with shoplifting at least two 7-Eleven stores in Fairfax County. in early time. December.
Fairfax police say they began investigating the series of burglaries on December 6, after a man walked into 7-Eleven at 9511 Blake Lane in Fairfax, walked behind the counter, demanded an employee open the log, and then escaped with store property.
The second robbery occurred on December 11 at 7-Eleven at 8110 Old Dominion Drive in McLean. During this incident, police said two men entered the shop, insinuating that they were carrying a gun and seizing property before fleeing the scene.
Forensic evidence from a crime scene led police to arrest Smith on December 13. Additional evidence and interviews led the Virginia State Police to arrest Tapscott on Christmas Day.
Smith was charged with three theft, and Tapscott was charged with four counts of theft. Both are held in the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center without a bond.
