19-year-old arrested for driving without a license and has drug possession in Alexandria
A 19-year-old man from Alexandria faces multiple charges for allegedly driving a truck without a license, giving a wrong name to police, and possessing the drug.
Police noticed the suspect was driving in the wrong direction at Building 3800 of Old Dominion Boulevard in the city's Arlandria neighborhood on Sunday, December 5.
Police used emergency lights to stop the suspect, who parked the car illegally and then got off the truck.
The police then said that the suspect provided a false name and date of birth. The man told the police that his girlfriend owned the car and dropped off his cousin, sitting in the front passenger seat. The suspect had no identification and admitted not having a driver's license. He then left the car before the police could get more information.
Police summoned a wreck to tow the truck into the city's holding yard and, during a stockpile search, found 20 to 40 suspected oxycodone pills in a plastic bag, a smoking device made from a water bottle, and pieces of burnt foil.
The suspect was arrested and charged with driving without a license, driving on the wrong side of the street, possessing a Schedule II controlled substance, and identity theft. He went to court on January 14, 2022.
