California plans to require children ages 5 to 11 to show proof of vaccination to enter indoor

Health officials said Wednesday that California plans to require children ages 5 to 11 to show proof of vaccination to enter indoor spaces.

The virus has not killed anyone under twenty in the city since the disease appeared there nearly two years ago.

Figures from San Francisco's official COVID tracker show that of the 664 citizens who succumbed to the disease, none were under the age of 21.

City officials announced the same day the CDC granted emergency approval to Pfizer-BioNTech for that age group.

Children in San Francisco have about two months to get their complete vaccinations before showing vaccination passports to enter the premises.

However, Covid-19 has been shown to spread a low risk to children, with young children accounting for less than 0.1% of Covid deaths in America.

Critics argue that this indicates that it is unnecessary to vaccinate children.
