Los Angeles police confirm arrests of 40 people during violent Transgender rights protests as members of the Proud Boys and Antifa clashes

Los Angeles police arrested 40 people during a violent transgender right and fired non-lethal projectiles to disperse crowds after members of the Proud Boys and Antifa clashed Saturday in the streets of downtown Los Angeles outside Koreatown spa, where videos surfaced showing police wearing Riot equipment beating protesters with batons, buildings covered in graffiti.

Los Angeles police declared on Twitter that smoke grenades and other projectiles were thrown at officers who tried to disperse the crowd.

Police seized stun guns, knives, and pepper spray was confiscated

The Wai Spa was also the protest site on July 3, and some suspect that the video that sparked the anti-transgender protest was fake.

Doubts were raised about the video's authenticity after people noticed that the video clip was cut while the woman was walking downstairs to confront this person she allegedly saw, but she never showed the trans woman.

Police grew on suspicion of a hoax after failing to find witnesses who saw a trans woman at the spa, and Wi Spa claims none of its trans clients made appointments that day.

On Saturday, police declared an illegal gathering in front of the spa in Koreatown around 11 a.m, when anti-transgender protesters clashed with counter-protesters.

Detective Megan Aguilar, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles Police Department, said no officers were injured and no protesters were taken to hospitals.
