Biden is considering mandating a vaccine for all federal employees

Biden is considering mandating a vaccine for all federal employees due to increased delta variable and says new CDC mask guidelines are 'another step in beating the virus.'

President Biden said Tuesday that he is considering mandatory vaccinations for all federal employees.

"This is now under consideration," he said when asked about the case.

He also said he would put the "next steps" into vaccinating more Americans on Thursday.

He added that masks and vaccinations would help avoid 2020-style closures.

It comes as the CDC introduced new guidelines urging even vaccinated Americans to wear masks indoors.

These moves come as infection rates rise, driven by the highly contagious delta variant of COVID 19.

President Biden said Tuesday that he is considering requiring all federal workers to be vaccinated against COVID-19 as the nation faces rising infection rates and hospitalizations due to a delta-type outbreak.

He spoke after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommended that complete vaccination against COVID-19 should be wearing masks indoors in areas where an infection has been on the rise.

The moves illustrate how far the nation is moving away from the "summer of freedom" that Biden promised last month.

Biden was asked for mandatory vaccinations for federal employees during a visit to the Director of National Intelligence office.

He added that disguise and vaccination were the best way to avoid repeating the lockdowns that hit the country last year.

President Biden said mandatory COVID-19 vaccines for federal workers were 'under consideration during a visit to the National Intelligence office in North Virginia.

He denied that changing the official advice was confusing instead of saying that the unvaccinated were to blame for the high infection levels.

Variable delta is blamed for rising numbers of COVID-19 infections in the US, which has led to a raft of new measures to stem its spread.

President Biden had promised a 'Summer of Freedom,' but the numbers keep rising.

" the only thing we know is, if those 100 million people were vaccinated, we'd be in a completely different. "

The White House declared the"next steps" into vaccinating more Americans on Thursday, America can beat COVID," he said.

In the meantime, more vaccinations and wearing masks will enable us to avoid the kind of lockdowns, closures, school closures, and disruptions we faced in 2020."

Earlier, White House press secretary Jen Psaki said that people who have received the vaccines should wear masks indoors to be safe.

We're telling you that this is the way to protect yourself and your loved ones, and that's why the CDC is issuing this guidance," she said.

She added that the White House is preparing to return to wearing masks again if new federal guidelines require higher rates of COVID-19.

Critics have accused infectious disease experts of flip-flopping in their guidance.

But Psaki said the delta variable had turned scientific thinking on its head since masking requirements were relaxed.

"That's their job," she said.

Their job is to consider evolving information, evolving data, and evolving historical epidemics and provide guidance to the American public.

In the White House, that could mean officials are preparing to follow the new CDC guidelines and monitor conditions that may require concealment.

"First, we will comply, of course, with every aspect of the CDC guidelines on concealment that they provide this afternoon," she said.
