Virginia Automotive Licensing Office Announces New Guidelines
The Virginia Automobile Administration announced Thursday that it would begin providing services to citizens without prior appointments starting October 5th.
The Instant Attendance service will only be offered on certain days, alternating between days and appointments. Appointments will be delivered on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, while attendance service will be provided on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
“We are pleased to continue to offer appointments in addition to our attendance service because our clients greatly value the convenience and efficiency that appointments provide,” said Richard Holcomb, Commissioner of the DMV. “Those who can plan should schedule a service, but if personal assistance is urgently needed, the immediate attendance service will now be available two and a half days a week.”
The DMV requires those who make an appointment and then decide to use the attendance service to cancel the meeting scheduled initially before coming. This will allow other customers to use their services.
The instant attendance service will operate on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Virginia DMV only began operating by appointment when it reopened its offices in May 2020. The new schedule change will apply to all customer service centers in the Commonwealth.
