The best electric car in 2021

Electric cars are really for the masses these days, with great technology, ranges, and style in many cases.

If you're here, you're probably thinking of leaping into the electric car business. These battery-powered vehicles can serve as a daily driver as technology improves, ranges become more livable, and the charging infrastructure begins to expand.

The problem is figuring out which electric cars for sale today are the best fit for your life and budget. or do you want to shell out some cash for premium features and enough content for free road trips?

We can't tell you exactly which electric vehicle is right for your life, but we can narrow down your choices. Look, we've driven every Switch for every electric car currently in production for sale in the US today.

Mini

The Mini may be new to the EV game, but the brand's first effort is excellent. What it lacks in general scope, it makes up for in fun to drive and great to be in. We're also fully absorbent for those electric outlet-style wheels.

The Mini SE may only run 110 miles of freight, but with 181 horsepower and a boatload of torque in a small package, 110 miles is probably a lot of fun. The good news is that with a 50 kW fast charger, you will be able to charge 80% in about half an hour.

Chevrolet

The 2021 Chevy Bolt is our runner-up, thanks to its less exciting driving dynamics and interior quality. Still, it offers an exceptional range for something in both the size and price categories. The Bolt benefits from the update for 2022, so if you've set your heart on an American electric car, you might wait a few months.

Bolt is still one of the best deals on the market regarding the range of cost. With a range of 259 miles in an excellent hatchback body design, there are plenty of reasons to recommend it. It is also good to drive, thanks to its 200 horsepower. If you can save the extra cash and need the scope, Bolt is an excellent way to go.

Ford

Ford is also new to the custom EV platform game with the Mustang Mach-E, but it's an excellent effort. Despite its controversial name, the Mach-E offers a good range, a great interior, and excellent driving dynamics in an uber-practical package that includes 29 cubic feet of cargo space with all seats.

The Mach-E is available in several flavors, Still, even the base model is enjoyable to drive and deserves the Mustang badge. With 290 horsepower in RWD form, or 346 horsepower in all-wheel-drive trim, the Mach-E quickly goes out of its way. The structure is excellent, and a cabin is a fun place. The Mach-E is one of the best multi-level electric cars for sale right now.

Tesla

Tesla's Model 3 is a trendy choice among electric car shoppers, and for a good reason. It's great to drive, great to look at, and offers a killer range and a very active community of owners. But due to its high price tag (when you include the FSD package) depending on the lack of service centers in some cities.

Although far from perfect, the Model 3 is still a great car

to drive. It provides tons of electric power to make passing or merging easy, and its chassis is more efficient and sporty than any right. The interior is essential, but it offers plenty of storage space thanks to the two luggage compartments. Being a Tesla, the Model 3 also provides an impressive range that is best in class. The cheapest version will let you drive 263 miles between charges, but if you switch to the long-range version, that's 353 miles. You will be able to skip some charging stations.

Porsche Taycan

On paper, the Porsche Taycan is a rather tough sell. It's pricey (it's a Porsche, after all), and its range estimation looks evil firsthand.  Its realistic range is well suited for all but long-haul road trips, and its build quality and driving dynamics are fundamentally irreplaceable.

Right now, the best you can officially do with the Taycan is 227 miles, and that's in the 4S model with the performance battery option. Even if that's perfectly accurate in the real world, that's still a lot for most people. Taycan offers a driving experience that leaps above any other electric vehicle on sale right now, and it does so with just 400 horsepower. Once Porsche figures out the range of things, the rest of the industry looks better.
