Kamala has announced her second foreign trip to Singapore and Vietnam after harsh criticism over her border reaction during her visits to Guatemala and Mexico

In June, she visited Guatemala and Mexico as part of her role in leading diplomatic efforts to solve the problem causes of immigration to the United States.

That trip drew bipartisan criticism, with progressives angered because it asked Guatemalan immigrants to stay in their country.

Conservatives were outraged that she would not commit to the US-Mexico border trip, which she eventually did.

The visit to Vietnam will be the first time for a US Vice President to visit the country.

The Biden administration focused on strengthening diplomatic relations with countries in the Indo-Pacific region to respond to China.

Kamala Harris has a trip to Singapore and Vietnam next month to strengthen economic ties and celebrate America's cultural relationship with the Indo-Pacific.

This will be Harris' first overseas trip and his second overseas after visiting Guatemala and Mexico in June as part of her role in leading diplomatic efforts to address the root causes of immigration to the United States.

That trip attracted bipartisan criticism, with progressives angered that it asked Guatemalan immigrants to stay in their country — and conservatives angered that it would not commit to a journey at the US-Mexico border.

The White House announced Friday that Vice President Kamala Harris would travel to Singapore and Vietnam next month.

Harris later traveled to the US-Mexico border days before former President Donald Trump visited her.

The visit to Vietnam will be the first time that a US vice president has visited the country.

Harris's visit comes when the administration is working to counter China's influence in the region and globally.

According to Harris' spokesperson Simon Sanders, Harris will meet with the leaders of Singapore and Vietnam to discuss regional security, the coronavirus pandemic, and climate change.
